I decided to retrain as a Nutritional Therapist following a period of ill health in my mid 30's. I had very young children and was running a booming business - long story short I was working 7 days a week, running on sugar, caffeine and adrenaline to keep me going and I finally broke!  I sold my business and gave up work for a few months but despite this, continued to feel very unwell with extreme fatigue and gut issues.  I was diagnosed with anaemia, given strong iron tablets and told to rest but it didn't make much difference. 

 

After several months of going backwards and forwards to the GP and not feeling better, I finally decided to focus on my diet and wellbeing.  I cut out gluten, dairy, alcohol, sugar and focused on healthy eating.  This re-boot made a dramatic improvement to my health and over the next few months I began to feel well again.  I am now able to have a balanced healthy diet and have improved my gut health so that I can enjoy treats in moderation, which I believe is key to enjoying life!

 

The journey back to wellness was so transformative that I wanted to know more about nutrition and health so that I could help others.  I have spent the past 8 years consuming as much information about nutrition and wellness as I possibly could - reading books, listening to podcasts, attending events and crucially 3 years of intense training with the College of Naturopathic Medicine in Bristol to become a nutritionist.
